Kate Hudson`s estranged father is desperate to meet her children
Bill Hudson - who was married to Kate`s mother, Goldie Hawn, until 1980 - hasn`t spoken to his daughter since 2005 and he is keen to make amends as he would love to form a relationship with her two sons, Ryder, eight, and six-month-old Bingham.
He said: "I haven`t met any of my grandchildren, but I`d like to meet them one day. I hope to make amends."
Bill, 62, admits there was a time when he and Kate had reconnected but their relationship fell apart once she married Ryder`s father Chris Robinson, who she was with from 2000 until 2006.
Speaking about his relationship with Kate - who is now engaged to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, the father of little Bingham - and her brother Oliver, Bill said: "By 2005 it was back to absolute nothingness. I regret that I was absent from their life for a long period of time. I should have fought harder."
Bill has written a tell-all book, `Two Versions: The Other Side of Fame and Family` and says it`s dedicated to Kate and Oliver.
He told RadarOnline.com: "The book in some ways is an apology to Oliver and Kate. They`re my children. They`re not celebrities to me."
